Topics Areas and Descriptions:
Humor in the Workplace
This is Andy's premiere presentation. His unique spin on the issue of humor
and its application to all aspects of work is very highly regarded and his most
popular topic. It is fun, informative and immediately applicable, especially with
regard to the way we look at our jobs.
Creativity
If anyone has heard the phrase, "Do more with less," they understand the
increasing demand for creativity on the job. Andy examines the nature of
creativity itself and offers direct experiences of our natural ability to be
creative. This one is fast, fun and furious in its exploration of inspiration.
Several strategies are outlined for effective brainstorming and creating
environments that support peak performance.
Teambuilding
Andy begins with the premise that we cannot learn how to be a real team
member from a book, but only in the experience of relationship with others.
From there he creates an opportunity to experience the critical elements of
successful teams and the excitement of productive, positive and supportive
relationships. There are three segments in his approach to Team Building:
The Basic Elements, Team Communications & Conflict, and Running
Effective Meetings.
Leadership
Seeing leadership as an Art, in a corporate environment or not, is the approach
most appropriate to this subject. Sorting through the jumble of theories and
methods, Andy offers a simple but powerful set of strategies, exercises, and
resources. For the continued development of those who would be leaders, this
is a gold mine of rare insights and real tools.
Dealing with Stress
The skill of remaining centered in the midst of chaos has many techniques
and tools. Andy explores several of the best, including Reframing,
Visualization, Mindfulness and Presence tm, with an unusual approach:
none of these are helpful without the careful examination of our patterns,
(and a strong dose of humor!). Stress and burn-out that can result from
change, conflict, and the challenges of remaining motivated are all addressed.
Managing Change
We all know that the pace of change is accelerating, but few know the skill
most needed to develop confidence and enthusiasm: Improvisation. Andy
focuses on the fact that the primary talent most professionals display is their
ability to improvise at work, at a very high level. What follows is an amazing
experience of that truth.
Diversity
Although it has been spoken of in every organization, there is still a lot of
confusion as to how to understand it and make it a source of strength rather
than weakness. Getting to the root of the notion that "different is bad," Andy
creates an environment in which the audience can experience true "synergy."
